Sotk Pass, Nagorno-Karabakh
The Sotk pass connects Armenia with the unrecognised Artsakh Republic. This region saw fierce fighting during the 1988-1994 Nagorno-Karabakh War, and the conflict remains unsettled as Azerbaijan refuse to concede territory to their former subject state of Artsakh. The most recent clashes, in 2016, killed an estimated 350 people.

This memorial in the mountainous pass features an IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle) left over from the Nagorno-Karabakh War.
