Monument to Saint Nino

Tbilisi, Georgia
Saint Nino preached Christianity in Georgia in the
4th century, and she is now celebrated as one of
Georgia's most important religious figures.

The creation of a monument to her, overlooking
the Georgian capital, represented a significant
concession to Georgian national heritage by the
typically anti-religious Soviet authorities.
